The design ethos of the venue is inspired by the mythical aspect of cinnabar – a mineral that has been used historically to create the ‘dragon red’ most commonly used in walls of Imperial Palace and oriental carved lacquerware.
Working with the unique architecture of the Shard building, Fu has deliberately crafted the floor into a number of intriguing salons of intimate proportions, a concept that is reminiscent of the traditional boudoirs of the West. The signature bar experience is deeply routed with references from the past, yet given a contemporary twist to promote the modern Asian aesthetics today.
